About Akers of Toons

Hey! My name is Jesse, and I am so stoked that you stopped by the Akers of Toons village! I hope this community is a reflection of me working hard towards building a vibrant community of arts and crafts enthusiasts that want to contribute to others,  as well as using the village as a “creative hub”  to learn new techniques, share ones already known and encourage each other in our efforts. I have always been very “exploratory”  with arts and crafts, so I have dabbled in a bit of everything. I have always enjoyed making things and working with my hands, but without encouragement it is easy to give up or get discouraged. If that happens, then we never reach our  full potential, which is a big reason a lot of people craft.  To always see improvement is a motivation in almost all craft folk. That is where Akers of Toons comes in!

For starters, Our village needs you to share your craft with others and give them as much insight as you can through instruction and photos, so that they can teach someone, so that they can teach someone, so that……get it? I hear the same thing all of the time. People tell me “I have just never been very good with my hands.”  These same people can do things like sharpen an axe, roll out pie crust, brush their hair, etc. How much more motor skills could ya need? What they really need is someone to teach them, and that someone is you! Every craft has its place, so don’t ever think that your work  is too simple, or not fancy. Crafts like that make great gifts, are fun to do in a group and can be produced at a fairly rapid pace.You see, where I hope Akers of Toons truly grows into  is a place that anyone with an itch to create, or a skill to teach, the resources for them to express themselves will be easily accessible right here!
